Sharon Fraser is a Contemporary Performance Artist who places explorations of domesticity at the centre of her arts practice. A single mother of four, Sharon enjoys making work which is based around her politics of being a working-class Scottish performance maker. Sharon explores making the familiar strange in her work through her live art, which can be best described as visceral! Sharon believes in challenging stereotypical views of the working-class women and her place within society through her autobiographical work. She approaches performance-making through a feminist lens using her own life experience of growing up in urban Glasgow and her journey of motherhood. Sharon believes in searching for a better world for everyone. She has found her platform within Contemporary Performance and her ongoing practice of working with diverse and marginalised groups within the community insists that the voice of the people really does make a difference.
