Charneh Watson is a performance maker and facilitator from Oxford. Her work is visual, choreographic, focused on identity and not for the fainthearted. The politics of her work are underpinned by her own experiences as the child of a single parent family, a dyslexic leaner and a mixed race woman. From her experiences Charneh is driven to create diverse work through exploring multidisciplinary practices.
At the core of her making practice is collaboration. She is excited by the strength and force of creating and sharing ideas with others including her audiences. Charneh is interested in making work where the audience are no longer passive spectators but become a part of the performance themselves.
Her daily practice of stomping her feet listening to heavy metal is a healthy reminder of ‘sticking it to the man’!
